You’re Beautiful

::I was reading 1 Kings 5-7 yesterday and found it quite beautiful.

Here, Solomon builds an insanely intricate, lovely, and expensive temple for the Lord. Only the best wood and gold and bronze was used.  Now seriously, this was only the best and most beautiful for an insanely beautiful god. In 6:7, it says that it was all done without the sound of a hammer.. (what?!) in honor of Him.  

Think about it: This was the dwelling place of God…

God’s presence never left as long as His commands were followed. This was literally a place where God’s presence could be tangibly felt. He resided there. But let’s fast forward to the new testament and today…God now abides and resides in us…In our hearts.  God must deem something about us very beautiful and ornate then, right? He won’t leave or forsake us He says. But what is so beautiful about us sinners? We clothe ourselves in our own disgusting choices. But God still desires us. He created us in His own image.  I don’t know about you, but I’m secure in my beauty. Not because I look in the mirror, but because God established and confirmed my beauty when He made me. And more than that, when I opened the door, He chose to reside in ME. I guess He thinks you and I are pretty special
